School of Prayer

This session offers participants a deeper initiation into the Church’s school of prayer. Participants will develop key practices for participating fully, consciously, and actively in biblical and liturgical prayer. The workshop will introduce participants to the four senses of the Scriptures, to ascetic practice, the Liturgy of the Hours, techniques for discernment, meditation, and a contemplative approach to Eucharistic participation.

The workshop will invite participants not simply to a deeper understanding of the Church’s tradition of prayer but will build in times for practicing what we learn. This workshop, developed by the Notre Dame Center for Liturgy, will be valuable for all those looking to enrich their life of prayer as disciples, especially for those who are new to these practices of prayer. It will also be a great workshop for those campus leaders discerning ways to teach prayer in their own settings.
